The 4 Laws Answers

How Do I Overcome Fear?

You do not overcome fear by eliminating it.

You overcome fear by refusing to let it make your decisions.

The 4 Laws of Disruption — Karmen Michael Smith
The Hidden Problem

Fear often disguises itself as practicality. Logic. Responsibility. Preparation. These are legitimate things — until they become the reason we never move.

The hidden problem is that most fear in the context of personal transformation is not fear of genuine danger. It is fear of loss: loss of approval, loss of identity, loss of the certainty that came with staying small.

What The 4 Laws of Disruption Teaches

Fear is often inherited. The beliefs that make us afraid were frequently installed by family systems, religious communities, and cultural norms that benefited from our compliance.

The work is not to eliminate fear. The work is to examine it — to ask what belief is underneath it, and whether that belief deserves the authority it has been given.

The Four Laws Applied

Law 01

Tell the Truth

Name your fear specifically. Vague fear has more power than named fear.

Law 02

Challenge Tradition

Question the story underneath the fear. Where did it come from? Who taught it to you?

Law 03

Embrace Discomfort

Take one courageous step. Not the whole journey — one step.

Law 04

Commit to the Process

Practice courage repeatedly until it becomes a pattern, not an event.

What The 4 Laws Proclaims
Courage is not the absence of fear.
It is the refusal to surrender your future to it.
Fear that is examined loses its authority.
The step you are afraid to take is often the one that matters most.
Reflection Question

What would you attempt if fear lost its vote?
